I am excited to invite you to join me and my colleagues from Senate District 61, Representatives Frank Hornstein and Jamie Long, as we launch our 2020 re-election campaigns on Monday, November 18th from 7:00-9:00 PM at the LynLake Brewery, 2934 Lyndale Avenue South. We will have live music, food, drinks, special guests and an opportunity for you to get plugged in to our voter mobilization efforts for the crucial 2020 elections!
As we have already seen first-hand, President Trump and the Republicans have targeted Minnesota as a key part of their re-election strategy. Our efforts in District 61 contributed to the razor thin Democratic victory in our state last time, and with so much at stake in the 2020 elections, we cannot leave a single vote on the table. Our work to turn out the vote right here in Southwest, South and Downtown Minneapolis will make the difference in keeping Minnesota blue. Our 2020 efforts will build on our past successes in turning out infrequent voters, young voters and registering new voters, especially in often overlooked and hard to reach places such as apartment buildings and condominiums. All three of us will also devote time, effort and leadership to retain the Minnesota House and retake the Minnesota Senate.
We work very hard together as a team on the values and issues so important to our district: justice, equity, opportunity, and security for our families and communities. When we succeed next fall, we will at long last be able to debate and pass common sense ideas for Minnesota: an economy and democracy that works for everyone, protecting reproductive freedom, greater racial justice, criminal justice reform, gun violence prevention, drug pricing, banning conversion therapy, paid family and medical leave, building more transit, investing in education, saving our climate, passing a Minnesota ERA, and more.
